What kind of colds do you get?

I’ve heard you should take Vitamin C and Vitamin A for colds and have always done that. Then one day someone asked, “What kind of colds do you get?”. With a blank stare, I answered, “What are you talking about”?

This person said that you are either a Vitamin A person or a Vitamin C person. My first thought was, “Really, or are you nuts? I don’t remember which”.

We could not resisting trying it out at our next illness. Wow! We did indeed learn which kids and which of us needed which Vitamin to shorten the cold.

If in doubt, we take both vitamin A and C, but we know now know which one is most likely needed.

Those of us with lingering and repeated illness may have just been born needing more of one type. I never tire of the stories of people getting lung cancer but never smoked. The same for those living in Radon or second hand smoke. Some get cancer, while many never do. Perhaps, it might be the lack of Vitamin A.

We are now hearing so much about Measles, yet the World Health Organization states how effective Vitamin A is. Previous generations effectively used Cod Liver Oil daily to receive their Vitamin A.

NeoLife “Water Miscible” Vitamin A is easier digested than water soluble or plain oil forms. This great absorption also helps you get rid of any extra that you may not need.

Measles are easy to get rid of. Vitamin A deficiency is a recognized risk factor for severe measles. Deficiencies are wide spread in the US and around the world. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends administration of an oral dose of 200,000 IU (or 100,000 IU in infants) of vitamin A per day for two days to children with measles in areas where vitamin A deficiency may be present.
